Obituary of Andrew Miller

It is with great sadness that the family of Andy Miller announces his passing on Monday, December 16, 2013. Loving father to Judy Flaman and Andrew (Jan) Miller. Proud grandfather to Mandy (Jeff) Meiklejohn, Dawn (Thomas) Boxall, Karla (Wilfred) Mike and Kaitlyn Miller. Dear, dear great-grandpa to Madison and Zachary. He was predeceased by his wife Muriel; parents Frank and Lena Miller; and sister Trudy. Andy was born in Yugoslavia and came to Canada at the age of 11. He attended St. Joseph’s school and later Balfour Technical School. He enlisted in the Navy, serving in the North Atlantic, Britain and Gibraltar. He didn’t speak of those years as they were not his best memories. When he returned, he worked a short time in Trail, BC then came home and met Muriel. Andy was the best Dad a kid could ever wish for. He worked for 30 years at Ashdown’s until they closed, and then worked at SaskTel until his retirement. Then came the fun and what he had been living for: golfing every day at Tor Hill in the summer, and curling every chance he got in the winter. He spent his last years at the Veteran’s Wing, 3-5 in the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre. Many thanks go to the wonderful people who work there and took such good care of him. We will never be able to express our gratitude to all of you. A private celebration of Dad’s life will take place after Christmas.
