Obituary of Kazimierz Abrahamowicz

Kazimierz “Kaz” passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 5, 2014 at the age of 94, one month shy of his 95th birthday. Predeceased by his loving wife, Janina in 2012 and loved by his children, Stanley (Leokadia), Elizabeth, Mike (Brenda), Barbara (John) and John (Marysia). He will be lovingly remembered by all of his grandchildren, Christopher (Krystal), Andrew (Callie), Elena (Mike), Monika (Keith), Joshua (Lynnette), Jennifer (Robin), Lisa (Landon), Brian (Victoria), Jeffrey (Kelly) and Thomas; as well as his great-grandchildren Violet, Emma, Ava, Henry, Lincoln, Hana and Ainslie. Kazimierz outlived all his brothers and sisters but will be remembered by numerous nieces and nephews in Poland. He was predeceased by his parents Elzbieta and Szymon and two infant sons. He was born in 1919 in Poland and immigrated to Canada in 1960 with his wife and five children. For many years, Kaz worked at two jobs to provide for his family. Before his retirement, he worked for many years at the Pasqua Hospital. Kazimierz will be remembered as a devoted husband, father and Dziadzia to all his grandchildren. His faith in Jesus Christ gave him strength in his daily life until his final days. The family would like to thank the staff at Pioneer Village 4 East for their long-term loving care of Kaz. Prayers will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church, 2275 Atkinson Street, Regina on Friday, January 10, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Stanislaw Poszwa, SCh, celebrant and Rev. Marian Ogorek, SCh, co-celebrant. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park. Donations in memory of Kazmierz may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, 301-2550 12th Avenue, Regina, SK S4P 3X1 and to Regina Pioneer Village, 430 Pioneer Drive, Regina, S4T 6L8.
