Obituary of Richard James Nokusis

November 19, 1947 – January 19, 2014 After a courageous battle our beloved father passed away surrounded by loved ones. Predeceased by his parents Alex and Maggie Nokusis; sisters Mildred (Marius) Chartrand, Marion (Raymond) Starr, Gladys (Louie) Blacksioux, Anne (Bill) Yuzicappi; brothers Maurice Nokusis, Archibald (Claudette) Nokusis; Patrick Nokusis; Ronnie Waniska. Richard is survived by his children, Dominic (Barbara) Nokusis and Monique (Albert L.) Bellegarde; sister Irene (Francis) Desnomie; seven grandchildren; many godchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends. He is also survived by the special people in his life, Arthur Desnomie, Louise Bear, Alvin Starr, Mike Pinay, Nicole Nokusis, Justine Nokusis, Matthew Nokusis, Amanda Starr and Marcel Starr. Richard also cherished the many friendships he made at the Wascana Centre, including special nurse Sharon and special friend Lucy. A Wake will be held at the Okanese Learning Centre, Okanese First Nation, TODAY, Wednesday, January 22, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Service to follow on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the same location. Interment in Starblanket First Nation.
