I had the distinct privilege of calling Michael my friend since 1979. He had a profound influence on my life in positive way. Having been a client and employee to him, I learned quickly about his hard work ethic and “sticking to perfection” ways, in terms of clients and everyday life. As a friend, his intensity and passion towards life in general and helping me on many occasion was so incredibly generous. His love for family was evident, in every conversation we shared. Our discussions of CBC days were always enlightening.. I know I will never meet anyone like him, a very special, high functioning, and intellectual human being with heart, dignity and rare caring qualities. RIP Michael and God Bless.

I was truly surprised to receive the email announcing Michael's death. Michael was an ex colleague of mine & when CBC was going thru all the cut backs we worked together on a committee. He was very passionate in what we were trying to accomplish for our colleagues who were losing their jobs. My heartfelt sympathies go out to you & all.

I feel so incredibly sad to learn of Michaels death. I have known him for some years And he was such a special man and I will miss his friendship a lot. His daughter was his world and he was so very proud of her.
I live in NZ so will not be able to attend his funeral .....he is at peace now and my condolences to his family and those closest to him.

Michael was a colleague for many years, and the one thing that always stood out was his complete determination to meet and exceed his client's expectations, (sometimes to the corps chagrin..lol!) but something he did so brilliantly - Michael treated his customers like family, remembering birthdays, sending flowers, wonderful meals, buying "just the right" plates, cutlery, food for client events with his own money...because he wanted things "perfect".
Equally as important to Michael, was the way in which he represented CBC Television - he was a true ambassador of the Corp - Michael's incredible knowledge of CBC and the broadcast industry as a whole, combined with his passion for the Public Broadcaster, made it very hard for a client to say no to him.
The only thing Michael spoke with more love about, was his family - he was a very, very proud father, and loved to show his colleagues pictures, give updates, and brag a bit, like Dad's do.
You will be missed my friend.

So sorry that Michael is gone from us. My heart is heavy with grief. Such an intense and caring brother. I have a hard time thinking or finding words that describe how sad I am. I've missed opportunities over the years to be closer, but reconnecting in the past 2 years was the best decision I've made in a long time. Michael was an inspiration and I loved him dearly.
Alysen, June and Loraine my heart goes out to you at this time of loss and sorrow. I truly know his spirit is at peace and he is now watching over his family and friends.

I was so sorry to hear of Micheal's passing. Although I only met him a few times though dancing, we developed a bit of an email friendship and he would occasionally send beautiful digital artwork and inspirational messages he he had created. I will always remember him for his creativity, intensity, love of music and his spiritual nature. I trust he is now happy and at peace.
