Obituary of Ronald Robertson Highet

Ron passed away on Friday, February 7, 2014. He was predeceased by his parents Gertrude and John; brothers Wilfred, Wallace and William; sisters Jeanette Probert and Phyllis Julyan; sister-in-law Marilyn Cooney; nephew Bruce Highet; nieces Beverly and Ramona Marie Highet. Ron is survived by his loving wife Louise, daughter Cheryl, sons Vernon of Regina and Neil of Spruce Grove, AB; granddaughters Shannon and Lee-Anna; brothers-in-law Thomas Wetherell of New Westminster, BC and Basil Cooney of Burnaby, BC; sisters-in-law Theresa Highet of Brandon, MB and Carol Wetherell of Cochrane, AB; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. Ron was born in Hamiota, MB on July 7, 1931. He retired from SPMC in 1992. Ron was always active in the community, from coaching pee-wee baseball to serving on town council or helping his neighbors. He said he was so tired, so the Good Lord said it’s time to come home. Always loved and cherished. Although you are gone, we won’t walk alone. Your memory will never fade. Grateful thanks to all the staff at the Pasqua Hospital who cared for Ron over the past year. A Memorial Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Riverside Memorial Park.
