Obituary of Michael Alexander Johnson

Michael Alexander Johnson November 10, 1990 – February 25, 2014 Michael – also called Mike, Mikey, Mickey and of course, Mike Jones, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 23 years. He was born and raised in Regina, but had relocated to Alberta a number of years ago. It was a place he had grown to love from the rivers and prairies of the south to the forests and the wildlife of the north. Mike is survived by his loving parents Glenn and Norah; sister Sara (Jonathon), Avery and Taylor Coderre; sister Amy (Jay), Rylan and Emery Blythman; and brother Matt; Grandma Edna Johnson; the love of his life, Katie MacPheat and her son Xavier, whom Michael loved as his own; and if we tried to list all of his aunts, uncles, cousins and children of his cousins, Katie`s family and the rest of his relatives it could conceivably take the entire Leader-Post. Waiting to grasp his tiny fingers and walk round and round with him again is his Grandpa Alfred (Alf/Freddie) Johnson, who taught him how to walk; Grandma Marg and Grandpa John Knox, who will wrap their arms around him and hold him tight for the very first time. Mike loved all his friends and family deeply. He also loved the outdoors and everything in it. And he loved his job working on the rigs, “keeping our houses heated, fuel in our vehicles, and keeping us in plastics.” A Funeral Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. followed by a private family interment. In lieu of flowers, friends so wishing may make donations to the Canadian Mental Health Association, 2702-12th Avenue, Regina, SK S4T 1J2 or to a charity of their choice. Rest in peace Mike knowing you are loved and dearly missed by many. “You are out of our sight, but you will never be out of our hearts, we may not see your face, but we will always remember your smile, we will never hear your voice again but you will forever whisper in our ears, we never got to say goodbye to you, or tell you how much you really meant to us, one day we will meet at heavens gates and we will be with you again and this time it will be forever.”
