Obituary of Emilia Perpetua Lockert

EMILIA LOCKERT June 7, 1926 May 28, 2012 Emily peacefully went to be with her Lord on Monday, May 28, 2012 in her home at William Albert House in Emerald Park, SK with song and praise surrounded by her loving husband and children. She is survived by her faithful husband of 62 years, Henry; and by her children Steve (Jan) Lockert, Alvin (Mary Ann) Lockert, Deborah (Lyle) Alspach, Janet (Pat) Cheney, Virginia (Clifford) Wood, Rose (Rick) Anderson, Ted (Candace) Lockert and Vern (Gayle) Lockert; 24 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; sister Rose (John) Keen; brothers Edmund (Nadie) Schaaf, Matt Schaaf, Ted (Gabrielle) Schaaf; brother-in-law Tony Kessel; sisters-in-law Gloria Schaaf and Agathe Swiderski; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Stephen and Elizabeth Schaaf; brothers Jack (Leona) Schaaf, Pius Schaaf, Joe Schaaf, Leo Schaaf; sister AnnaMary Kessel; and grandson Matthew Wood. Emily was born and raised on a farm near QuAppelle. She married Henry on July 4, 1949 and was a dedicated wife who lovingly raised her children and devotedly supported her husband on a farm near Vibank. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crafts and was a long standing member of the Vibank CWL. She shared her love for her Lord God and Saviour with all those who knew her through her faith, love and deeds. She will be remembered always for her gentle spirit and loving ways by all those who knew her. We would like to thank all the staff at William Albert House for their loving care, compassion and support over the past 2 years, especially during her last days. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Emily may be made to the Alzheimers Society of Saskatchewan, 301 2550 12th Avenue, Regina, SK, S4P 3X1. Prayers will be held at St. Pauls R.C. Church in Vibank, SK on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place at St. Pauls R.C. Church on Friday, June 1 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Louis Abello and co-celebrant Rev.
