Obituary of Gerald James McGill

GERALD JAMES “JERRY” McGILL March 29, 1945 – March 7, 2014 Jerry, late of Regina, SK, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 7, 2014 at the age of 68. He was predeceased by his parents, Jim and Shirley; and brother Richard. Jerry will be fondly remembered by his brother Cameron of Regina; his sister Jacqueline (Jake), and nieces Charlayna and Rayanna McGill of Stoughton; numerous cousins of BC and Ontario; as well as nephews, and friends. The eldest of four, Jerry was born, raised, and remained in Regina, living a simple life proudly following in his father’s trade as a residential painter. Throughout his life, Jerry was an avid outdoorsman and survivalist, with a passion for summer and winter fishing, hunting, and camping. In retirement Jerry enjoyed the many acquaintances he made through his golf ball recycling project. He will be remembered for his presences in the community and his witty and care-free personality. Special thanks to the staff of Waterston House, Cupar Nursing Home, and Pasqua Hospital for Jerry’s care. As Jerry wished, a private gathering will be held at his favourite fishing spot in the spring.
