Obituary of Enid Luella Stewart

ENID LUELLA STEWART Enid passed away peacefully on Friday, March 14, 2014. She was predeceased by her parents, Harvey and Luella Beare; husband Alex Stewart; and brothers, Garfield and Alvin Beare. Enid is lovingly remembered by her husband Leroy Dammann; son Harvey (Tanya) Stewart; grandson Derek Stewart (Sarah); granddaughters, Krystal (Matt) Vollebrecht, Tamara Stewart, and Sheena Stewart (Nevin); daughter Judy (Dennis) Smith; grandson Travis Smith; granddaughters, Robin (Steve) Dettman, Janelle Smith (Ben Shentag) and Amber Smith; great-grandchildren, Faith and Hope Taylor, Bryden and Noah Shentag, Hayes Smith, and Parker and Jaxen Vollebrecht; brother Ivan Beare; and all of Leroy’s family. Enid grew up on the farm in Fillmore and went to Freewill School. She got her elementary bookkeeping degree in Winnipeg and moved back to Fillmore to work at the Royal Bank. Enid met the love of her life, Alex, and they wed in 1947. Enid and Alex spent much of their lives working on their farm, Lazy Acres. Enid loved driving the combine and was dedicated to making sure all the machinery was in perfect working order. When Harvey took over the farm, they moved into town. Enid was a proud member of the Fillmore Volunteer Ambulance for 18 years and was a certified E.M.T. Enid enjoyed serving on numerous community committees, curling, golfing, outdoor shuffleboard, dancing, and spending time with her family. In May 2007, Enid and Leroy were married and lived in Stoughton. They recently moved to a condo in Weyburn where they made many new friends and enjoyed going out for coffee. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Enid may be made to the Stoughton or Fillmore Volunteer Ambulances.
