Obituary of Joseph Jerome Flynn

JOSEPH JEROME FLYNN Joseph passed away on Friday, April 4, 2014 at the age of 86 years. He will be greatly missed by his wife of fifty-three years, Margaret; his children, Elizabeth (Bradford), Peter (Barbara), Helen (Kevin), David (Cynthia); and his grandchildren, Liam, Olivia, Julianna, Elyse, Aiko and Yukiko. The second youngest of eight children, born to Sarah McGough (1889 – 1978) and John Flynn (1885 – 1974) in Ponteix, SK. Joseph was predeceased by his siblings, John, Charles, Mary Catherine, James Lawrence, Edward and George. He is survived by his youngest sister Patricia McGrath and his many nieces and nephews. A man of principle and intelligence, Joseph raised his family with love, kindness and humour. Married to his best friend and adventurer, Margaret, they toured the world together hand-in-hand. As a member of the Saskatchewan Provincial Court from 1960 to 2002, his confidence, principles and intelligence allowed him to succeed in a chosen profession for which he cared deeply. His family will remember him with love as a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. Prayers will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Christ the King Roman Catholic Church, 3239 Garnet Street, Regina on Friday, April 11, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Sathiadas Anthony celebrant. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park.
