Obituary of Barry Arthur Jackson

BARRY ARTHUR JACKSON It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Barry after a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, April 8, 2014. Barry was born December 10, 1946 in Indian Head, SK to H. Beverley Jackson and E. Bernice (nee Stanger) Klemm. He was predeceased by his grandson Judah; his parents; as well his mother and father-in-law Lily and George Salter. Barry is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 45 years, Marilyn (nee Salter); and daughters, Rhondean (Trevor) Lang of Regina, Corinne (Dan) Heard of Rochester, MN and Shawna (Steve) Lang of Regina. He is also survived by grandchildren, Brady, Hayden and Griffin Lang, Daniel and Jackson Heard and Nyah, Aryanna and Alorah Lang; siblings, Lorraine (Ken) Kainz of Westbank, BC and Reg (Linda) Jackson of Medicine Hat, AB; sister-in-law Carol (Gord)Campbell of Swift Current, SK; brother-in-law Wayne (Pat) Salter of Calgary, AB; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Barry started in the Royal Bank in 1965 and lived in the communities of Southey, Oxbow, Yorkton, Prince Albert and finally Regina in 1974. He retired from the Northgate Branch in 1994. Barry then worked at Napa Auto Parts in 2001 as a driver until 2013. He enjoyed many sports in his years and was an avid bowler, curler and ball player. Barry was a fan of the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Blue Jays and rarely missed watching a game. He enjoyed spending time with his family and was often seen watching his daughters in their many activities. Barry could be found fixing something, doing various woodworking projects or working on his computer. His joy was his grandchildren and he loved watching them play hockey or ball and they loved helping grandpa fix their toys. A huge thank you to the palliative care team at the Pasqua Hospital and Cancer Clinic and the many doctors and nurses involved in Barry`s care over the past month.
