Betty is happily survived by her daughters, Linda Scott (Bill) of Calgary, AB, Wendy (Harvey) Strachan of Regina, Nancy Scott (Gordon) of Port Moody, BC; six grandchildren, Erin Strachan (Dave) of Ottawa, Jeff Strachan of Regina, Lindsay Thompson of Calgary, Scott (Roberta) Thompson of Calgary, Leah (Matt) Penner of Calgary and Patrick Penner of Victoria, BC; sister-in-law Vera (Ray) Sisson; niece Patty Sisson; and nephews, Paddy Girvin, Bill Sisson, Gord Sisson, Doug Sisson and David Sisson. Betty was born in Brandon, MB and moved to Prince Albert before her school years. There, she happily completed her grade school years with her lifelong friend Betty Anderson. The Girvin family moved to Fort William in 1944 where Betty worked in a bank and met Jack through mutual friends on the ski hill. They married June 5, 1948 and began producing girl after girl while Jack provided, working for the CPR. His work took the family to Regina in 1960 where they continued to raise the girls through their school years until 1972 when Jack transferred to Winnipeg as an investigator. Retirement years included many warmer winters in Harlingen, TX and a retirement home in Westbank, BC in 1991. After Jack passed, Mom moved to Broadway Terrace, Regina, in 2007 to be closer to family. Betty was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be sorrowfully missed by those who knew her. A Celebration of Life will be held at Broadway Terrace, 1150 Broadway Avenue, Regina, SK on Saturday April 19, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Flowers most gratefully declined.
