Obituary of Stan Hordichuk

STAN HORDICHUK Stan passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 12, 2014. He was born in Beaver Plains, SK near Arran on April 3, 1924. In 1946 he married the love of his life, Cassie Kiryluik. They have two children, daughter Cheryl (Trev) Crowley of Abbottsford BC and children, Trevor (Prudence) Crowley of Niagara Falls, ON and Andrea (Jason) Heiland, of Abbottsford BC, son Randy and children Mike and Erin, of Regina and Jeff (Carla) of Okotoaks, AB. Stan and Cassie have six great-grandsons, Zack and Keaton (Mike), Lincoln (Erin) and Grayson, Beckett and Sawyer (Jeff and Carla). In 1953 Stan and Cassie left Arran and moved to Virden MB. He owned and operated Virden Photo Studio until 1967. They then moved to Regina, SK where Stan worked for Federated Co-op, first in the Hardware department, later in Men’s clothing. After a few years, Stan returned to his first profession and opened Hordichuk Photography until his eventual retirement in 1988. Stan and Cassie spent many happy years between Regina and their cottage at Echo Lake near Ft. Qu’Appelle, where they enjoyed entertaining family and friends. He also pursued his favorite pastimes; boating, fishing and golfing. Grandchildren and family always came first. So many good times, so many memories……. Rest in Peace Dad, we love you. A private family funeral will be held in his honour.
