Obituary of Marjorie Dickin

MARJORIE DICKIN Marjorie Dickin passed away in the early hours of Thursday, May 22, 2014. She was born on the family farm at Beulah, MB on March 25, 1923. Marjorie was the second of three daughters born to Walter and Hazel Dickin. The family left the farm in 1936 to move to Regina. Marjorie graduated from Scott Collegiate and Success Business College. She held a number of secretarial positions before joining the staff of the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool where she worked for more than 30 years until her retirement in 1988. Marjorie loved her Blue Jays and Riders and kept very active in her retirement years with travel, bowling, golf and participation in various choirs. She thoroughly enjoyed time spent with family and friends. Marjorie was predeceased by her parents; by her sisters, Rev. M. Joyce Dickin in 1993 and Hazel Bogues in 2004; brother-in-law Morley Bogues in 2009; nephew Craig Linnen in 2002; and great-nephew Kevin Bogues in 2011. She is survived by nephew Steven (Susan) Bogues; niece Alison Linnen; and great-nieces, Erika Linnen and Sarah (Jim) Schimmel. A Memorial Service will be held at Knox-Metropolitan United Church, 2340 Victoria Avenue, Regina, SK on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Marjorie, may be made to the Arthritis Society of Saskatchewan, 110 – 2550 – 12th Avenue, Regina, SK, S4P 3X1.
