Obituary of Ruth Leona Smith

RUTH LEONA SMITH (nee Ritter) Ruth passed away on Monday, May 26, 2014 at the age of 77 years after a long battle with cancer. She grew up in the Southey area and later came to live, work and raise a family in Regina, SK. Ruth was predeceased by her parents, John and Karolina; siblings, Walter and Martha; and loving husband John Smith. She will be sadly missed by her three daughters, Stacey, Shelley (Darin) and Tammy (Kelvin); five siblings, Paul (Violet), Esther (Henry), Herman (Jeanne), Joyce and Norman (Diana); sister-in-law Leona; brother-in-law Alfred; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ruth will also be fondly remembered by the Smith family. A Come-and-Go Visitation for family and friends will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Sunday, June 1, 2014 from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held at New Hope Lutheran Church, 370 McIntosh Street North, Regina, SK on Monday, June 2, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Liz Kuglin-Alyea officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Memorial Park, 815 Assiniboine Avenue East. Flowers are most gratefully declined. Friends so wishing may make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or New Hope Lutheran Church.
