Obituary of Norbert Henry Muench

NORBERT HENRY MUENCH October 5, 1927 – June 3, 2014 Norbert passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 3, 2014. He was predeceased by his daughter Marina and brother Leo. Norbert is survived by his wife Velma; son Don (Kathy); grandchildren, Pamela, Suzanne, Andrew and John; siblings, Cyril, Dan, Al, Terry and Dave; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He grew up on the family farm. Norbert then worked in a lumber camp in Ontario to earn money to attend St. Peter’s College in Muenster, SK. He then worked at SaskTel for 36 years. After retirement, Norbert worked with Wascana Centre Authority maintaining the flower beds in front of the Legislative Building. Norbert was a member of SaskTel Pioneers and Regina Garden Associates. He loved gardening, curling, sailing and fishing. Norbert also managed the SaskTel Pioneer Activity Centre. A Memorial Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow in Riverside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Norbert, may be made to the Regina Food Bank, 445 Winnipeg Street, Regina, SK, S4R 8P2.
