HOWARD JAMES BOYCE
Howard passed away on Monday, June 16, 2014. He was born in Regina, SK on July 13, 1925 and spent the working years of his life here. Howard was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Mayme; his sister Rose Margaret and Kenneth A. Beesley, of Regina. He is survived by his nephew Kenneth David Beesley of Regina; niece Patricia Margaret Bryden of Winnipeg; niece Cathy Beesley of Regina; as well as numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Howard, at age 17 joined the Canadian Reserve Army and then following his high school graduation in 1943, he enlisted in the Royal Canadian Artillery, serving until the end of WWII. Howard maintained his military connection during the post war years as a commissioned Officer in the Canadian Reserve Army. In 1950, he graduated with a degree in Law from the University of Saskatchewan. Howard engaged in the practise of the Magistrates Court. He served in that capacity from 1969 through 1978 when he was appointed a Judge of the Provincial Court of Saskatchewan. Howard retired in 1994. In recognition of his public service he was awarded the Canada 125 Medal. At Howard’s request, a private family graveside service will be held in Riverside Memorial Park at a later date.
