JOHN JACK? JOSEPH SYRNYK Jack passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 17, 2012 in his 80th year. He obtained his civil engineering degree from the University of Saskatchewan and then worked for 29 years for the Saskatchewan Department of Highways. He took early retirement in 1985, at the age of 55 and never looked back. Whenever we travelled to Saskatoon on Highway 11, he took pride in saying This is the road that Jack built.? Jack was an avid fisherman, cribbage player and he enjoyed having coffee on a twice daily basis with his friends at the mall. He regularly took fishing trips with his cribbage buddies, sons and grandsons. Jack was one of the key planners and designers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Housing Corporation, Selo Gardens. He also performed many duties there including acting as treasurer, and handled grounds maintenance and any other issues which arose. Jack was a very social person who was universally liked by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife Darcy; children Ray, Wayne, Joan, Marie and Ken; brother Donnie; and grandchildren Stephanie, Adam, Matthew, Kenny and Michael, as well as many other relatives.
