Obituary of Maria Szmorog

MARIA SZMOROG It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of our dear sweet Mom and Babcia on Tuesday, June 19, 2012. Maria was predeceased by her husband Marian; son Joseph; son-in-law Wallace; and two sisters in Poland, Anna Paslawska and Wanda Kuchiak. Left to miss and lovingly remember her are daughters Helena Borowski, Krysia Szmorog (Brian Campbell); grandson Chris Borowski; granddaughters Monica Vibert (Wayne), Donna Racette (Brad); great-grandchildren Sydney and Ethan Vibert; sisters Zosia Orlowska and Josefa Woroniak; niece Marysia (John) Abrahamowicz; great nieces Lisa Abrahamowicz and Monika (Keith) Hamblin; as well as many relatives in Poland. She was born August 9, 1928 in Liczkowce, Poland and immigrated to Canada with her family in 1958, settling in Regina. Maria worked hard all her life and retired from Fuhrmans Meats after 16 years. She was a devoted member of St. Anthonys Polish Parish which was very important to her. Her faith in God and participation with the Church and Polish Hall were a big part of her life. The most important thing to her was her family. She would do anything for them. They were her heart and soul. She will be dearly missed. Prayers will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthonys R.C. Church, 2275 Atkinson Street, Regina, SK on Friday, June 22, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Marian Ogorek, SCh.
