Obituary of George Gette

GEORGE GETTE 1934 2012 With heavy hearts we announce the passing of George, on Sunday, July 1, 2012. George was born on May 15, 1934 on the family farm near Cactus Lake to Albert and Anna Marie (Schwab) Gette. He obtained his B.SC in Civil Engineering at the U of S in 1956 and began a 40 year career covering the four western provinces ending in Regina where he enjoyed his retirement years. George celebrated his family roots being involved in various genealogy and cultural organizations with family always at the forefront. He was predeceased by his brothers Sebastian, Joe, Albert, Peter and John; and his sisters Magdalena, Anne, Lenore, Margaret, Rose and Betty. Georges great smile and sense of humor will be forever missed by his wife Phyllis, of 53 years; daughter Shelley (Lance); son Geoffrey (Loretta); and his beloved granddaughters April and Amber who brought him much joy and many smiles. He also leaves numerous nieces and nephews spanning three generations; one sister Sr. Barbara Gette SMS; and one sister-in-law Angelina Gette; as well as Phyllis family. Prayers will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Martin de Porres R.C. Church, 4720 Castle Road, Regina, SK on Friday, July 6, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. A private interment will be held at a later date.
