Obituary of Judy Burlock

JUDY BURLOCK It is with great sadness that our family announces the peaceful passing of our much loved and adored wife, mother and grandma, Judy Burlock, on Tuesday, July 10, 2012. Judy will be forever missed and loved by her soul mate and husband of 50 years, Aubrey; daughter Randa Burdeniuk (Dave); son Brett Burlock (Nancy); son Brad Burlock (Joelle); grandchildren Trelle, Cassia, Tillie, Alia, Levi, Escalus and Nate; brothers Norm Frost (Janet) and Murray Frost (Pat); many extended family members and friends. Judy was born in Winnipeg and moved to Regina where she met the love of her life, Aubrey, in high school at Scott Collegiate. Judy and Aub were married on December 29, 1961 and were blessed with three children. She passionately mothered her children and taught everyone around her that you can make a difference in the world through exceptional parenting. As a mom, she was always there for late night talks, homework help, immersing herself in her childrens passions of figure skating, hockey and basketball, and Aubs work as a guidance counselor and teacher. Judy helped start La Leche League in Regina a worldwide breastfeeding and attachment parenting support group where for 30 years, she did volunteer counseling of hundreds of women in their mothering journey and spoke internationally about at-home mothering, nursing toddlers and the benefits of breastfeeding to families. Once her children were grown, Judy worked at UNICEF, Wascana Home Care and the Regina Health District. Judy and Aub loved becoming grandparents and she shared her passion of water by teaching each one of her grandchildren to swim. She and Aub shared a life of joy that included 15 trips to Hawaii, a love of their home and yard, the Lumsden Valley and time with their children and grandchildren. Our family would like to thank Judys palliative care nurse Leona Carvell and Dr. Barry Lotz for their tender and compassionate care, as well as all the kind people who helped us. A Celebration of Life for Judy will be held at Speers Family Centre, 2333 Cornwall Street, Regina, SK on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Flowers most gratefully declined. Donations may be made to La Leche League Canada at www.lllc.ca or to Regina Palliative Care Services, 4101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK, S4T 1A5.
