Obituary of Shirley Ann Hawes

SHIRLEY ANN HAWES April 18, 1933 August 12, 2012 Shirley passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 12, 2012 at Pioneer Village in Regina. She was predeceased by her parents Earl and Edith (Austin) Thompson; sister Jean in infancy; brother-in-law Tom (Elaine) Brothers; sister-in-law Eleanor Hawes and granddaughter Shelly. Shirley is survived by her loving husband Leo; children Darlene (Terry Wrigley), Garry, Linda (David) MacLachlan and Brad; grandchildren Jennifer, Tabitha, Kira and Austin; and great-grandson Noah. Also survived by sisters Doris (Earl) Paton, Mearl (Glenn) Eklund, Maxine (Ian) Smith; brother Gerald (Jane) Thompson; brothers-in-law Bill (Joy) Hawes and George (Donna) Hawes; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. While raising four children, Shirley was also a foster mom for a few years. She worked in the restaurant industry for many years, retiring as Manager of Smittys Restaurant, Victoria Avenue East location. Funeral Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Friday, August 17, 2012 at 3:30 p.m. with reception to follow. Family interment to follow at Bateman Cemetery, SK. In lieu of flowers, friends so wishing may make donations, in memoriam, to the Alzheimer Society of Sask.
