Obituary of Sue Nel Gee

SUE NEL GEE Sue passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 2, 2013. She was predeceased by her husband George; her parents, Mary and Francis Chan; brothers, Boa Sim and Boa Chew; daughter-in-law Jane Gee; and nephew Wayne Chin. Sue will be sadly missed and forever loved by her sons, Jim and Chuck; grandchildren, Hartland, Archie (Bev), Edgar, Ivan, Calvin, Darcy (Renai), Attlee (Lisa) and Catherine (Kit); great-grandchildren, Aaron, William, Malia and Kai. She will also be fondly remembered and loved by her brother Boa Yuen; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. Sue was born in Toysun Kwang Tung China on the 21st day of the 8th month in 1910. She was the eldest child in a family that included her and three younger brothers. Sue immigrated to Canada in 1952 to be with her husband and settled in Cadillac, SK, where George had the town cafe. In 1955, they moved to Regina where they lived the rest of their lives watching with pride as their family grew. Sue was a devoted and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, relative and friend. She was hard working, strong and self reliant. She enjoyed sewing and gardening. Her family and friends were the most important thing to her and she especially enjoyed time spent together. Public Visitation for family and friends will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Monday February 11, 2013 from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the Regina Chinese Alliance Church, 3010 Arens Road East, Regina, SK on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Riverside Memorial Park.
