Obituary of Laurene Steadman

LAURENE J. STEADMAN It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Laurene, on Saturday, February 2, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her husband, Perry Steadman and her parents Jean and Lauri Kuski. Laurene is survived by her three sons, David (Elizabeth) Steadman, Derek (Laura) Steadman and Troy Steadman; her six special grandchildren, Kiya, Ilana, Sereina, Aidan, Abigail and Erica. She is also survived by her three brothers, Don (Elaine) Kuski, Brian (Colleen) Kuski and Gord (Judy) Kuski; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Doris Martin, Kay Steadman, Woody (Joan) Steadman, Beth Mattman, Win Fleming, Merv Steadman and Wayne (Margie) Steadman; as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Laurene will be remembered from her years as a dedicated kindergarten teacher with Regina Public Schools, retiring in 2001. She loved music, and was an accomplished pianist and vocalist, enjoying performing with the Sunset United Church Choir and the Singing Grannies. She loved being with her family and adored her grandchildren, as well as cheering on the Riders as a season ticket holder. Memorial Service will be held at Sunset United Church, 177 Sunset Drive, Regina, SK on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. Many thanks to the staff of the William Booth Special Care Home, the Palliative Care Unit at the Pasqua Hospital as well as the residents and staff of the Wascana Rehabilitation Center, who made these last months as comfortable as possible for Laurene.
