Obituary of Norma Morin

NORMA (AGNES) MORIN December 27, 1930 February 3, 2013 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Norma with family at her side. Norma was predeceased by her husband Supt. Ret. Clifford (PJC) Morin and her parents Harry and Olive Desermeau. Left to mourn her passing and cherish her memory are her sons, Shaun (Barbara) Morin, Brent Morin, Jeffrey (Sandra) Morin; and daughter Keri Lynn (Norm) Jakubowski; as well as Normas precious grandchildren Brittany and Levi Morin, Luke and Cale Morin, Morgan Morin, and Megan (Jordan) Sanders and Chelsea Jakubowski. Norma was born in Ottawa and loved to talk about her school days at Immaculata High School. In 1955 she married her husband of 49 years, Clifford, an RCMP Officer for 35 years. Norma was a devoted wife and mother. She embraced the roles and lifestyle customary with her husbands position in the RCMP.. Norma was an active participant in all RCMP activities and duties. She was always proud to be part of Cliffs work with the Musical Ride and together they created some formations still in use today. Shortly after moving to Regina, Norma worked for Cooks Insurance, a job she took great pride in. Her children are grateful, and will fondly remember her day to day caring and the building of the family traditions. She enjoyed their retirement years at Regina Beach where they built a strong community of friends. Norma and Cliff were snowbirds who travelled to Texas, Hawaii and Mexico for winter vacations. She treasured those memories. In 2004, Clifford passed away, and in that same year Norma fought a courageous battle against cancer. Norma remained in Regina Beach enjoying golf, bridge and her church, St. Jerome R.C. Parish. She was a member of Regina Beach and District Lioness Club as well as the Kinookimaw Ladies Golf Club. Norma enjoyed music and loved to socialize. but she always had time for her children and grandchildren. She wanted to hear about everything taking place in their lives and she was so proud of them. In June of 2012, Norma moved into College Park Retirement Residence in Regina. It did not take long for her to have a close circle of friends and to be involved in every social gathering related to bridge, music, bingo and happy hour. Family and close friends will sadly miss Normas love for life, her keen sense of humour, and her fashion sense. Prayer Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the RCMP Chapel (please use 11th Avenue entrance) in Regina on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. John Weckend officiating. Interment to follow at RCMP Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memoriam, may be made to Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre Street, Regina, SK, S4P 2R3.
