Obituary of Delmar Neald

DELMAR DEL? NEALD Delmar passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, October 30, 2011. She was born in Ogema, Saskatchewan on May 15, 1934, the eldest of five children born to Gordon and Jean Eden. Del was predeceased by her parents, Gordon and Jean and niece Cammie. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years William Bill?; three sons Dean (Annette) and children Chad and Colby; Dana (Jane) and children Allyce and Kelsey; and Tory (Joanne) and children Justin, Bryce and Quinn; and three great-grandchildren Emily, Natalie and Brigette. She is also survived by her two brothers and two sisters: Nelson Eden (Christine) of Surrey, BC, Garnet Eden (Gail) of Ogema, SK, Mary Anne Knox (Kevin) of Eganville, ON and Arla Hanson (Leroy) of Parry, SK; as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other close relatives. Del was a loving wife, a proud mother and a devoted grandmother to her seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She would drop everything she was doing to go watch the grandkids play their sports or to help out if anyone needed a babysitter. Anytime help was needed, it was given and for that we are eternally grateful. This love of babies and children extended to her being a mom to many foster children that were temporarily placed in Bill and Dels home. Lorraine was part of the family for a number of years. Del and Bill had a wonderful marriage and enjoyed life to the fullest. They played golf, camped, travelled extensively and enjoyed square dancing and card games and socializing with their large circle of friends. Del had a business career outside of the home. She was a very successful real estate agent. The majority of this sales career was as an Olsen girl? with Frances Olsen Realty. In later years Bill became her sole caregiver as she battled Alzheimers disease. If she knew no one else, it seems she never forgot her husband who devoted his time to making sure that she had the best care that anyone could ever have. She will be greatly missed by all and though she may be gone, she will never be forgotten. The Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 4, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at St. James Anglican Church, 1105 Empress Street, Regina, with Rev. Malcolm French officiating. Church is wheelchair accessible. Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimers Society of SK Inc., #301-2550-12th Ave., Regina, SK, S4P 3X1.
