Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Schulz

MAE SCHULZ It is with deep sorrow the family of Mae Schulz informs you of her peaceful passing on Saturday, February 25, 2017. She was born Mary Elizabeth Aitken on April 26, 1924 in Rutherglen, Scotland, to her Scottish family she was known as Betty. She joined the British Armed Forces during WW II where she became known as Mae. During her time in the army she met a handsome Canadian farm boy who was the love of her life. Mae married Ben Schulz in Scotland on April 12, 1946. She gave up her homeland to follow him to Canada arriving on the Lady Rodney at Pier 21 in Halifax in September, 1946. In the following years Mae welcomed four children who were her greatest joy. This joy was multiplied many times over with the addition of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mae was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Mary Aitken; her beloved husband Ben; her brother Tom and son-in-law Jim. She will be remembered with love by her son, Dwayne (Terry); daughters, Darlene (Frank) Nichols, Donna Daniels and Deb (Dale) Quest; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; nieces in Scotland, Kate and Sue Aitken; sisters-in-law; as well as nieces and nephews from the Schulz family.
