Obituary of Carolina Chaskavich

CAROLINA LEA? CHASKAVICH (nee Cyca) Lea, late of Parkside Extendicare, Regina, was born in Lemberg, SK, on January 15, 1921. She passed away at age 92 on Monday, February 4, 2013 and will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Predeceased by her beloved husband Charles; her daughter Diana Linnen; her sister Anna Exner; her brothers Peter, Bill, George, Fred and Lawrence Cyca; Lea is survived by her daughter Patricia (James) Overend; son-in-law Cliff Linnen; grandchildren Brad (Stacy) Linnen, Christine ( Rob) Roflik, Jennifer (Wayne) Patterson, Andrea (Scott) Taylorson and Ian Overend (Shannon Tichkowsky); great-grandchildren Kimberly Linnen (Gary Temple), Christopher, Emily and Bridget Linnen, Marcus and Carter Roflik, Kathryn and Abby Patterson, Alicia, Annika, Elias, Alivia and Egan Taylorson; and great-great-granddaughter Kaleigh Temple. Lea was a loving and caring wife, mother, and "Granny" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her happiest times were spent with her family. Lea had a lifelong love of crocheting, knitting and working in her beautiful vegetable and flower gardens. She enjoyed baking and cooking for family and loved ones. Everyone raved about her baked goods. Lea and Charlie spent many happy days at their cottage on Long Lake boating and fishing with family and friends. She was always there to help with kindness and words of wisdom. Throughout their lives together, Lea and Charlie attended as many of their grandchildren's activities as possible and were their biggest cheerleaders. Lea led a deeply rooted, faith-filled life and she passed that on to her family. She was an active member of Holy Rosary Cathedral and involved in CWL activities for a number of years. Prayers will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass with be celebrated at Holy Rosary Cathedral, 3125 13th Avenue, Regina, SK on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Joseph Kuruvilla, MST celebrant. Please park and use the East entrance to access the lower auditorium. Flowers gratefully declined.
