Born March 22, 1926 in Regina, SK, Edythe enjoyed a full 91 years of life and was the last surviving member of her family. Up until recent months she resided at College Park II Retirement Residence and was formerly a long-time resident of Emerald Park SK. Edythe’s legacy lives on in her children, Larry (Delee) Ast, Carol (Ken) Meyer, and Florence (Rick) Coffey; grandchildren, Jennifer Ast (Bob Spicer), Taylor Ast, Steven (Kristen) Meyer, Aaron Meyer (Cassandra Smith), Chris Coffey (Wendy Byrnes), Dana (Dan) Coffey, Sara Coffey (Chris Gieni), and Evan Coffey; eleven great-grandchildren; nephew Allan (Linda) Tidball and their daughter Darla Tidball; numerous other nieces and nephews; and special friends whom Edythe loved and treasured. Edythe, the youngest of six children born to Florence and Lionel Tidball was a mischievous youngster alongside her sister Eileen and close friend Agnes (Toots) Beach. Many a tale was recounted over the years amongst the Tidball siblings of their youngest, playful sister. In 1946, Edythe married her soulmate and counterpart Norman and spent the next 68 years together. Throughout her life, Edythe enjoyed a close relationship with her brothers, Claude (Caroline), Leonard (Irene) and nephew Allan, sharing stories at family dinners or gatherings. She very much enjoyed being a grandma and great grandma and there was never a shortage of cookies or hard candies. Most treasured were her smile, laugh, and fun nature. Edythe lived a full and blessed life. Her legacy remains in the hearts of her family and close friends. The family wishes to thank Parkside Extendicare for the compassionate care afforded her during her last days.
