Obituary of Mark Alan Watson
MARK ALAN (GORDO) WATSON
Mark died suddenly of heart failure at the age of 50 on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 while on the road home near Estevan, SK with a friend. Mark is survived by his mother Ada Lou Watson; brothers, Grant and Graham Watson; sister Karen (Ken) Wheeler and their children Kara and James and granddaughter Chae, all of Regina Beach; sister Alanna (Jim) Mozel of Overland Park, KS and many cousins of the Barber and Watson families. He was predeceased by his father Lowell in 1989. Mark was born in Regina in 1961 and grew up at Shoreacres, across the lake from Regina Beach. He went to school in Bulyea and Strasbourg before finishing high school at Luther College in Regina. Mark lived life his way and anything else was set aside with a wave of the hand and yeah yeah whatever.? He travelled around the world and made friends everywhere with extended stays in places like Guatemala, South Africa, London England and Toronto, always returning home to Regina Beach. He tried many different things; searching for gold and diamonds in Zambia, selling Guatemalan imports in downtown Toronto and construction work before settling in as a driver for Raynard Trucking in Benson, SK for the past 7 years. His favourite escape was working on the cousins cabin up at Endeavour. You never knew when Mark would drop by to help out, hang out or just pass through yeah yeah later.? Well, later has come and Mark wont be dropping by any more - take a moment to reflect and remember the good times. Memorial Services will be held at Regina Beach in the Memorial Hall, 101 Centre Street, on Thursday November 17th 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Manasse Habonimana. and Mark's cousin, Pastor Brett Watson officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Doug Barber Memorial Fund, #2 - 2700 Montague Street, Regina, SK S4S 0J9, for the main pier at Regina Beach or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 279 3rd Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK, S7K 2H8.
