Obituary of Irene Schier

(nee FANTHORPE)

July 5, 1923 – April 30, 2017

Irene passed away peacefully in the presence of family on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at the age of 93 years. She was predeceased by her parents Frederick and Florence Fanthorpe; sisters Ida Wilment, Violet Saban and Doreen Smith; brothers John, Ronnie, Derrick and Charlie Fanthorpe; and her daughter Beverly Elaine Schier. Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband Walter; son Barry (Rae) Schier of Regina;  son Dale (Liz) Schier of Calgary;  daughter Debbie (Pat) Lundy of Regina;  four grandchildren;  eight great-grandchildren;  her youngest sister Jean Sweet; and as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Service will be held at St. Mary’s Anglican Church, 3337 15th Avenue, Regina, SK on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Claude Schroeder officiating. Reception to follow. Interment to take place at Riverside Memorial Park. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in her memory may be made to the Regina Humane Society, P.O. Box 3143 STN Main, Regina, SK S4P 3G7.
