ELVA WHITTON March 15, 1922 - November 21, 2011 Elva Whitton passed away peacefully on November 21, 2011 at the age of 89 years after living a very happy and healthy life. Elva is predeceased by Ronald C. Whitton, her devoted husband of 58 years and many other wonderful friends and family. Elva is survived by her three daughters: Judy (Bill) Frost of Vancouver, BC, Joan Whitton-Williams (Gregg) of Regina and Jocelyn Whitton (James Duffy) of Calgary, AB; three grandchildren: Mikhail Polischuk (Maggie Monson), Janine Polischuk and Jordana Frost; two great grandchildren: Max and Mara Polischuk; extended family: Jason, Kale and Carwyn Williams; and her devoted caregiver Elen Ramirez. Elva also leaves behind many wonderful friends. Elva grew up in Abernethy, SK and after completing a business course in Regina left for Ottawa where she was employed by the Federal Government and later the Royal Canadian Naval Headquarters. Elva had a tremendous zest for life and spent her years focused on family and friends, dedicating time in her earlier years to volunteer work and charities which included various positions with the Girl Guides and the IODE Jarvis Chapter. She was active well into her eighties with her friends, family and had a passion for bridge and politics. Her thirst for knowledge inspired her to attend Seniors classes at the University of Regina for many years. She was a liberal thinker and always up on current affairs. She was an inspiration to all who knew her. Elva and Ron enjoyed travelling and after Rons retirement, wintering in Arizona with many good friends. Elva aged with optimism, grace and dignity. She was a woman ahead of her time and generations blurred in her company. Elva was a kind, strong minded woman who relished spirited discussions. She appreciated the path as well as the destiny in all aspects of life. She will be greatly missed. At her request, no formal service will be held. Interment will be held at a later date in Pheasant Forks Cemetery near Lorlie, SK. Flowers gratefully declined. Friends so wishing may make donations, in memoriam, to the Pasqua Hospital Palliative Care Unit 4F, 4101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK, S4T 1A5 or a charity of their choice.
