Obituary of Nan Elizabeth Webster

 It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Nan Webster, age 91, of Regina, Saskatchewan on Sunday, August 27, 2017 after a brief illness. 

Nan was the eldest of five daughters and a first generation Canadian.  She was born Annie Elizabeth Munro, in Miseracordia Hospital, Winnipeg, Manitoba on May 14, 1926 to George Munro (formerly of Wick, Scotland) and Margaret Croll MacDonald (formerly of Glasgow, Scotland).  Her sisters, Marg and Irene followed and in 1932 the Munro family relocated to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, where her sisters Jean and Betty were born.  Nan attended both Thornton and Buena Vista public schools and finished her education at Nutana Collegiate.  She began working for the Canadian Bank of Commerce right after graduating high school.  1956 her future husband, Jim Webster, was transferred to the same branch as she worked.  Jim and Nan were married August 30, 1958 in Saskatoon and that fall Jim accepted his first managerial appointment in Rouleau.  Moves to Dinsmore, Stoughton, Melfort, Lloydminster and Weyburn followed before their final move to Regina in 1986.  Their daughter Margaret, was born August 1960 in Regina and her little sister, Kathy, was born April 1962 in Dinsmore.  Son in law, Byron Adams, joined the family October 1988.  October 31, 1991 Nan and Jim became grandparents when their only grandchild, Keith was born.

Nan devoted her life to caring for her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, she will be sadly missed.   

Nan was predeceased by her parents and her husband of 56 years, Jim; father and mother-in-law, John and Grace Webster; sisters, Marg Corrins and Jean Barrett; brothers-in-law, Gordon Barrett, Howard Thompson and Jim Trenaman.  Nan is survived by her daughters Margaret Adams and Kathy Webster; son-in-law Byron Adams and grandson, Keith Adams; Jim’s sister, Jean Spencer; all of Regina; sisters, Irene Thompson of Saskatoon, Betty (Dan) McGillivray of Naicam; brother-in-law, Ron (Bert) Corrins of Swift Current; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK  on Friday, September 1, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Jim Balfour of Broadway United Church officiating. Private interment will follow at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Nan’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society Saskatchewan, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (J.D.R.F.) or the charity of one's choice.
