MARGARET AUDREY THORSON

(NEE LOCKWOOD)

 

Margaret, late of Regina, SK, passed peacefully on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at the age of 95 years. She was predeceased by her parents Grant and Del Lockwood; husband Lyle Thorson of Regina; son Cleve Thorson of Regina. Margaret is survived by her son Miles Thorson, daughter-in-law Cheryl May-Thorson and granddaughter Meagan Thorson (Braden Kappel) of Medicine Hat, AB. She was born in Ernfold, SK. Margaret and Lyle resided and taught in Leader and Bateman SK before moving to Regina to start a family of two boys. She continued her teaching career in Regina proudly teaching deaf children for many years. Margaret was an active curler and member of Eastern Star and Daughter of the Nile. She was also an involved member of All Saints Anglican Church for many decades serving in a variety of roles. Margaret was most proud of reaching status of Master Bridge player spending many hours playing bridge at the Regina Duplicate Bridge Club. Piano was another of her loves; learning to play late in life, she played for her own enjoyment and entertained others when she moved to The Bentley and College Park 2. Margaret had a great sense of humor and liked nothing better than to host people at her house to share good food and socializing. A Memorial Service will be held at All Saints Anglican Church, 142 Massey Road, Regina, SK on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. Private interment will be at Riverside Memorial Park.
