Obituary of Henry Lockert

Henry peacefully went to his Lord on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at the age of 94 years in his home at William Albert House in Emerald Park, SK.  He is survived by brothers, Ben and Bill Lockert,; sister-in-law Virginia; children, Steve (Jan) Lockert, Alvin (MaryAnn) Lockert, Deborah Alspach, Janet (Patrick) Cheney, Virginia (Cliff) Wood, Rose (Rick) Anderson, Ted (Candace) Lockert, and Vern (Gayle) Lockert; twenty four grandchildren and forty great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his loving wife Emilia; parents Jacob and Eleanora Lockert; grandson Matthew Wood; son-in-law Lyle Alspach; sister Anne Kary; brothers Roy and Wendel Lockert; brother-in-law Mike and sisters-in-law Sheilagh, Marcelle, Josephine and Leona. Henry was born and raised on a farm near Vibank and married his beloved Emilia on July 4, 1949.  Henry lived a long and fruitful life farming the land and loving the Lord and his family.    He was a faithful member of St Paul’s parish for most of his life and took pride in his retirement maintaining the local cemetery.  His gentle spirit and genuine care for others has touched the lives of the many people he encountered throughout his life. Prayers will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday October 27, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. both will take place at St Paul’s Parish in Vibank, SK. We wish to express our gratitude to the staff at William Albert House for their compassionate care for our precious parents over the years.
