Obituary of Irma Noreen Zurowski

IRMA NOREEN (nee MANG) ZUROWSKI July 2, 1924 December 1, 2011 Irma passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at the age of 87 years at the Wild Rose Care Home in Regina, SK. She was predeceased by her husband Carl, parents Philip and Magdalena Mang, sisters Olga, Adeline and Hildegard, brothers Ernie and Bert. She is survived by her children Brenda (Jack) of Winnipeg, MB, Dianne of Calgary, AB, Bob of Winnipeg, MB and Jan (Geoff) of Toronto, ON; grandchildren Scott, Shari (Nandha), Jeff (Carey) and Jason; great grandchildren Megan, Noah, Anna and Natalie. Irma was born and raised on a farm near Edenwold, SK. She was the youngest of six children. They were a very musical family with Irma playing sax and clarinet in swing bands under the direction of cousin Eddy Mang. Irma and Carl married and settled in Regina, SK in 1943. She was a stay at home Mom until 1963 when she went to work for the Provincial Government until retirement. Irma loved to sing, golf, bowl, cook, garden, read and travel. She will be lovingly remembered. Memorial Service will take place at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina SK, on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Lindsay Hognestad officiating.
