Obituary of Feliks Majkut

Feliks passed away at the age of 96 years on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at the Regina Grace Hospice. He was predeceased by his parents Maria and Franciszek; four brothers; and five sisters. Feliks will be remembered by his wife of 71 years, Balbina; his daughter Anna (Richard) Kusiak and their children Lilia Kusiak, Mark Kusiak and Krysta (Jason) Grieve; his son Joseph (Judi) and their children Jenna (Dennis) Nock, Tamara Majkut and Sarah (Ryan) Mackie; Feliks was blessed with five-great-grandchildren, Kayden and Noah McBeath, Christina Grieve, Lachlan Nock and Roxton Mackie; as well as numerous nieces and nephews in Poland and Canada. Feliks was born in Grodzisko Górne, Poland, where he worked on the family farm. He was an assistant to the local veterinarian and a proud captain of the volunteer fire department. After a visit and an invitation from his brother Sebastian, Feliks and Balbina moved their family to Regina in 1962. He found the language and customs of his new home challenging but settled in and worked at the University of Regina until his retirement in 1986. He then spent his time cultivating his small garden, tending to his numerous flowers and helping around St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church where he was a long-time member. Dziadzia took pride in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and required regular updates of their accomplishments. Funeral Mass will be  held at St. Anthony’s Church, 2275 Atkinson Street, Regina, SK, on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Feliks’ name to the Regina Wascana Grace Hospice, 50 Angus Road, Regina, SK, S4R 8P6 or the charity of your choice.
