MERRILL BRINTON
Merrill passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, February 5, 2018 at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina, SK. Born August 19, 1950 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Merrill attended Dalhousie University before moving to Regina in 1984. He was a well-respected member of many communities. Merrill was a founding board member and active supporter of Carmichael Outreach, and was instrumental in establishing the Tournament of Hope golf fundraiser. He built his career as a CHRP professional with MNP, with whom he was a partner, and during which he had been appointed President of the Council of the CCHRA. An avid golfer, Merrill was a member of the Royal Regina Golf Club. He also enjoyed music and loved singing and dancing, as well as travelling and spending time in Mesa, AZ. One of Merrill’s favourite pastimes was spending time with his beloved dog Coco. Predeceased by parents, Agnes and Joe; sister Joan (Carl) Hartlen; brothers, Bill and Peter and brother-in-law Warren Dunitz. Merrill is survived by his wife Judy; children, Paula (Garrett Meier) and Mitchell; mother-in-law Rose Dunitz; brother Joe (Shirley); sisters, Carol (Peter) Daniels, Patricia Tomes, and Nancy (Mike) Oxner; his lifelong best friend Ed (Jane) Webber; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who all will remember him for his charitable and loving nature. A service will be held in memory of Merrill at Westminster United Church, 3025 13th Avenue, Regina, SK on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will take place in Stewiacke, Nova Scotia at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Merrill to Carmichael Outreach, 2300 11th Avenue, Regina, SK S4P 0K1.
