Obituary of Leo P. Machniak
With sadness, the family of Leo announce his passing on Sunday, February 25, 2018. Leo was born on June 27, 1940 to John and Tekla on the homestead south of Cupar, the youngest of thirteen children. He leaves to mourn his wife of 55 years, Bev; daughter Denise Brotzel (Gary); son Kevin (Marvelle); granddaughter Natasha Brotzel-Fry (Bryan); grandson Tanner Brotzel (Ciara); three great-granddaughters Maddy and Emersyn Fry and Paityn Brotzel; brother Vince (Carol); brother-in-law De Jessiman; sister-in-law Mary Machniak; mother-in-law Liz Schwartz; brothers-in-law Garry (Coleen) and Ken (Nancy) Schwartz; sisters-in-law Brenda Schuster (Morris) and Barb Weisbrod (Ken); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Leo was a farmer at heart and after an 18 year career at SaskTel he decided to make farming his full time pursuit, farming south of Cupar for over 40 years. Hobbies included camping, fishing and attending his family’s interests of sports and flying. The family wishes to thank Dad’s caregivers at Santa Maria for their kindness and respect. At Leo’s request there will be no funeral service. The family will hold an interment at a later date. Flowers gratefully declined.
