Obituary of Richard "Rick" C. Burkholder
March 18, 1957 – March 17, 2018
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rick of Regina, SK, on Saturday, March 17, 2018. He was predeceased by his mother, Thelma Margaret Burkholder and his father Lowell Ralph Burkholder. Rick is survived by his wife of 26 years, Maureen Burkholder; three stepchildren, Tanya (Darin), Tara (Chad), and Matthew (Renay); three grandchildren, Ethan, Austin, and Jesse; siblings, Chris (Lea), Kevin (Louise), and Trent (Theressa); as well as their children and grandchildren, and numerous extended family and friends across SK, MB, and AB. For most of his life, Rick grew up near the town of Bengough, southeast of Assiniboia, SK. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, motorcycles, and camping. In quieter moments, Rick enjoyed a good John Wayne movie and spending time with family and friends. As per Rick’s request there will be no Funeral Service, but rather an informal Celebration of his Life will be held at the Regina Elks Hall, 4915 1st Avenue North, Regina SK, on Friday, March 30, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. “All are welcome to celebrate his life!” In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Rick may be made to Diabetes Canada, 917A Albert Street, Regina, SK S4R 2P6, www.diabetes.ca/donate
