EDNA MARGARET POMFREY (nee COVENTRY) January 14, 1913 December 25, 2011 Margaret Pomfrey passed away peacefully on December 25, 2011. She leaves to mourn her six children, Daune Pomfrey (Jackie), Joan Webster (Bob), June Rein (Lloyd), Jim Pomfrey (Brenda), Michael Pomfrey (Evelyn) and Brian Pomfrey. She will be sadly missed by her 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Margaret was the second daughter of David William and Margaret Viola Coventry. She was predeceased by her sisters Viola Woods, Alice Macpherson; brother James Coventry; husband Arthur Pomfrey; and children Pat Martin, Douglas Pomfrey and Bill Pomfrey. She will also be mourned by many nieces, nephews and friends. Margaret was born in Moose Jaw, SK, and educated in Elbow, SK. She married Arthur Pomfrey in her parents home in Hawarden, SK on November 6, 1935. The couple left for Kenaston, SK where they would reside. They lived in several other SK communities before returning to Hawarden, living there until 1959 and moved to Regina, SK. That year Arthur passed away and Margaret was left to raise the family on her own. She ran her own household until 2007 with the help of Brian. At that time, she moved into Pioneer Village. After retiring, she joined the Orange Lodge, was Grand Mistress and on the board oversaw the running of the Home in Indian Head for 30+ years. She also was a mentor to paraplegic families due to her experience with son Douglas. Margaret continued to play bridge with her friends. Margaret took senior exercise classes with the Red Cross so she could lead and instruct the seniors in her building until she moved in 2007 at the age of 94. Memorial Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Friday, December 30, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Riverside Memorial Park.
