Obituary of Marjorie Vivian Joyce Koch

Marjorie, late of Edenwold, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 4, 2018 at the age of 87 years.

 She was predeceased by her parents, Alexander and Franceska McClintock; husband, Conrad Koch; brothers, William McClintock and Orville McClintock; and sisters, Doris Brisebois and Helen Hodel.  Marjorie is survived by her son Rodney (Wendy) Koch of Balgonie; daughter Glenda (Dan) Hubbard of Edenwold; grandsons, Shawn Koch and Darren Koch of Regina and Warren (Jody Watt) of LaRonge; three great grandchildren, Grady William Koch, Leah Lynn Koch and Reyna Joyce Koch; sisters Elma McMillan of Ottawa and Evelyn Werner of Regina; brother Ernie (Carol) McClintock of Regina; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Mom was born on April 4, 1931 in the RM of Edenwold, Section NW 28-19-17 W of 2.  She completed her Grade 12 education in Edenwold, Saskatchewan.  On November 24, 1951, she married Conrad Koch and moved to the Koch farm just west of Edenwold.   She lived there until her passing.  During her years on the farm, she was very active in all aspects of the farming operation.  Her passions were vegetable gardening, perennial gardens and flower pots, curling, Roughrider football, handiwork, photography, cooking and reading.  During her life, she was very involved in the community of Edenwold.  She especially enjoyed the activities at the Senior Centre as well as her regular card playing dates with her friends.  She had friends of all ages.

What was most important to Mom was her family and friends.  Anyone who came to her home was always welcomed with open, loving arms and lots of good food.

A Prayer Service will be held for Mom at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK, on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Edenwold, SK., on Friday, May 11, 2018, at 11:00 a.m.  A satellite feed will also be available at the Edenwold Hall during the funeral service.  Lunch will follow at the hall.  Interment will be in Regina Memorial Gardens following lunch.  Flowers are gratefully declined.  Donations may be made in memoriam to the Palliative Care Unit, 3A, Pasqua Hospital, 4101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, Saskatchewan S4T 1A5.
