Obituary of Richard Frank Selinger

It is with saddened hearts that the family of Richard Selinger announce his passing at the age of 70. Richard was born August 3, 1941 and passed peacefully on December 29, 2011 surrounded by family. Richard grew up and raised his family on the homestead farm outside of Dilke and spent his last 17 years in Regina with his wife and family. He is predeceased by parents Phillip Selinger and Elizabeth (Fahlman) Selinger, and father and mother-in-law Earl and May (nee Naldrett) Hendry. He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 47 years, Dawn (Hendry) and son Greg (Sheri) and grandchildren Alyssa and Darby; daughter Debbie (Tom) Schmidt and grandchildren Jamie and Benjamin; son Michael (Lisa) and grandchildren Landon, Lucas and Logan; son Jason (Jennifer) and grandchildren Tyler, Josie, Parker, and Jestina; brothers and sisters, Nettie (John), John (Nancy), Marilyn (Len deceased), Greg, Nancy (Paul), Laurie (Gord); brothers and sisters-in-law Clinton (Maxine), Garth (Regina), Brett (Charlene), Maylyn (Vernon), Twyla (Rick), Garnet (Jeanette), Colleen, Perry (Lynn), Delee (Ken), Janine (Shane) and Carman; and many loved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to doctors, nurses, healthcare workers and friends for their passionate care during his stay at the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre. A celebration of Richard's life will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at 10:00 am at the Resurrection Catholic Church, 3155 Windsor Park Road, Regina, officiated by Father Brad Fahlman and Father Stephen Bill. Prayers will be held Monday, January 2, 2012 at 7:00 pm at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Ave, Regina. In lieu of flowers, grateful donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, 150 Albert Street, Regina, Saskatchewan, S4R 2N2.
