Obituary of Mary Schuette

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and sister on Sunday May 13, 2018. She was predeceased by her husband Carl. Mary will be lovingly remembered by her son Timothy Schuette and daughter Sheila Peters (Darrell) of Regina; five grandchildren, Tristan and Kyle Peters and Shelbi Fisher (David), Brayden and Brodie Schuette; Mary is also survived by the remaining of her three siblings, brothers Clarence (Roberta) of Colorado, John Gessell, and Alan (Heather) Gessell. Mom was born in Dilke Sk. On December 23, 1941 to Emil and Caroline Gessell. She is one of 12 children; six brothers and five sisters, those who predeceased her; Art, Bill, Freda, Clara, Fred, Liz, Loreen and Patricia. Mary was a dedicated grandmother and wife, who held strong beliefs in her God. She took the time daily to devote to prayer by reading her favorite scriptures. She was a lover of music, and will be remembered for playing the guitar for family, friends and the residents in the care home. You would often hear her singing country and western classics or gospel songs, one of her favorite songs being Amazing Grace. Family was the most important thing to her, she didn’t have a huge house, a brand new car, or a lot of money. What she did believe though, was that she had an amazing family, and friends, and that was good enough for her to last her a lifetime. The family would like to thank the staff of Sunset Extendicare for providing their loving care to mom for the past 3 years, we know that she considered many there her friends and extended family. A very special thank you to Dr. McMillan for following along with mom on her journey for over 30 years, and more recently to Dr. Lok. We are forever grateful that we were given nine plus years because of your dedication and caring.  Funeral Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK, on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 10:00 a.m.
