Obituary of Violet Jean Moffitt
A woman of great spirit, Violet passed away peacefully at Grace Hospice in Regina. She leaves her devoted husband of 57 years Robert; daughter Joan; son Kevin; grandchildren Nikita, Karissa, Nolan and Benjamin; siblings Walter, Jimmy, Frank, Joe, Margaret (Gilroy), Elmer, Mary Ellen, and Marjorie (Deschambault). She was predeceased by her son Allan; mother Mary and father Herbert; and her brother Raymond. Violet Jean Richards was raised on a farm near Wawota, Saskatchewan. She left school in her teens to move to Regina where she found immediate success working in the banking industry. Though Violet loved life in the big city, she returned home as often as possible; her younger siblings referred to these special occasions as “visits from the Queen Sister.” In 1960, she met Robert Moffitt at Regina’s Trianon Dancehall and they soon decided to dance into the rest of their lives together. In addition to raising her children, Violet also worked with her husband at Moffitt’s Pharmacy for more than 25 years. The family would like to thank the staff of Grace Hospice for their professionalism, care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Violet may be made to Regina Wascana Grace Hospice, 50 Angus Road, Regina, SK S4R 8P6 or donate online at www.williamboothregina.ca.
