Obituary of Stuart James Hopkin
Stuart passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at the age of 60 years. He is survived by his father Kenneth Hopkin; mother Lorna Buchanan; daughter Candace Hopkin; siblings, Linda Hopkin, Susan Hopkin, Steven (Jacalyn) Hopkin; nieces and nephews, Chad Hopkin, Brad Hopkin, Erica Pederson; and special friends, Doug Dickson, Kyle Astrope, David Duesterbeck, Dallas Astrope. Stuart was born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan. He attended Balfour Collegiate, where he made several lasting friendships. He later went to work for the Government of Saskatchewan as a building operator, where he retired from in June 2017. Stuart was well known for his intelligence and work ethic and always looked to bring out a smile or laugh in people. Beyond that hard exterior was a genuine man that always wanted the best for people and always looked for ways to help others. Stuart looked forward to enjoying retirement, allowing him to work on his home, travel, and watch the Nascar races he enjoyed so much. Stuart was diagnosed with cancer in December 2017. Stuart remained optimistic and maintained an amazing attitude about life throughout his final months and was determined to fight with everything he could. He continued to enjoy the simple things in life that brought him so much joy and comfort. Unfortunately, the fight became too much and he is finally at peace. We can still hear your laugh that could never be replaced, you were truly one of a kind. Memorial Service will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Friday, June 1, 2018 at 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those so wishing, may make a donation to the Regina Humane Society, P.O.
