Obituary of Charmaine Ann Korchynski
Charmaine passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, the 23rd of June, 2018 in Regina, SK at the age of 65. She was predeceased by her father William Tokaruk. Charmaine is survived by her sons, Trent (Tara), Dustin (Veronique) and Dallas(Crystal); her mother Gertrude Tokaruk; her sisters, Helen Tokaruk and Maureen (Randy) Carruthers; her brothers, Brian (Carol) Tokaruk and Wayne Tokaruk; many nieces and nephews; and eight grandchildren: Jesse, Carson, Luke, Liam, Andrew, Elliot, Kaden and Emily.
Charmaine was born in Canora, SK on August 28, 1952, the second of five children. It was here that she spent her younger years and attended school before moving to Regina. Even as mother of three young children, Charmaine attended university obtaining a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1991. In her career Charmaine was a driven professional as a Project Manager with Sasktel. Despite being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012 she remained dedicated to her family and her will to fight her illness never ceased. Charmaine still put all her energy into her grandchildren, showing her love for her family and was always there when they needed her.
Charmaine was a beautiful, intelligent, independent, fun, creative, holistic, strong and determined individual. She was a wonderful, fun loving mother and grandmother. Charmaine enjoyed spending her time at her cabin with her sons and grandchildren. While there she enjoyed gardening, swimming and playing with the kids. She also enjoyed painting, Homeopathy and singing with her local choir (Vivace).
Charmaine will be deeply missed by her sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren. Her family all enjoyed her being a part of school celebrations, trick or treating for Halloween, Agribition and many more activities. Charmaine will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and grandchildren where she truly made a life lasting difference and showed everyone how to be a better person.
Visitation for family and friends will be at Speers Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. A Celebration of Charmaine’s life will be held at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 190 Massey Road, Regina, SK on Friday, June 29, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Interment in Regina Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers family and friends so wishing may make memorial donations to the Palliative Care Unit-3A Regina Pasqua Hospital, 4101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, SK, S4T 1A5 or the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital, 345 3rd Avenue, Saskatoon, SK, S7K 1M6.
