Growing up I could see Bing and Betty’s upstairs bathroom window from my kitchen window. There was something comforting in seeing their light on and knowing that they were awake too, especially on early in the morning on cold, dark winter days when I was the first one awake. I knew that they were up and getting ready for breakfast followed by their usual walk around the neighbourhood. There is comfort in knowing that the light is on once again. A love that real never ends and grows within everyone who has ever had the privilege of knowing them.
Betty, I always think of you when picking raspberries with my girls, making and eating Smartie cookies, and when the sun shines.
More than anything, I miss your laugh, your hugs, and our phone calls that always ended with ‘love you dear’.
Love you so much!! Hugs and kisses to you and Bing.
PS – thank you for the big chocolate bars you and Bing always had especially for Rene, Felix and I at Halloween. I can’t say for certainty that I ate them, (Ray had a way to create teachable moments and would take a big piece in guise of “the government”) nonetheless, the memory of receiving a big chocolate bar was exciting in itself.

We were very sorry to learn of Betty's passing. What a lovely lady and wonderful Grandma! Although we first met her at Sydney and Blaine's wedding, we could not help but appreciate her spirit and genuine love of family. We hope that time will heal your sadness, to be replaced with the many happy memories.

I knew Betty Crossman as a curler. I have two lists of curlers at the Matinee Curling Club, a once a week curling club on Broadway Avenue. Both Betty and I are on the lists for 1966/67 and 1967/68. These are memories from 50 years ago!
Sincere condolences to her family.

Our whole famity has so many beautiful memories of this great lady. Auntie Betty was always so gracious & kind to everyone & every time I visited her in person or on the phone she always asked how everybody in our family was doing. The fact that she always knew who belonged to who in our big extended family spoke to her genuine love for all of us I never heard her say an unkind word about anybody - and her stories about her life with Uncle Bing and all of "those dang Crossmans" never got old! We will all miss her very much. Leslie, Brenda, Linda & Percy & your families have been blessed to have had the unconditional love & support of two of the greatest people in the world. Love to all of you. Sis, Trevor & Janet, Shawn & Kendra, Brent & Cheryl, Cindy & Rich and families.

We've known Betty with her bubbly personality. Whenever I see her in the hallway she's always very pleasant and say things that are funny and smart. Betty is one of our resident that we'll miss dearly. We at Lake Bonavista Village Housekeeping Department want to express our sympathy and let you know that our thoughts are with the family.

What can I say about Betty? No words in the English dictionary can ever describe just how amazing she was. Everyone who came in contact with her at LBV has a wonderful (oftentimes hilarious) story to share about her. She was funny, fabulously blunt, and one of those people who you felt like you'd known for ages within the first few minutes of talking to her. She was a tall presence in the back row in choir, and though always the last to arrive, was one of the first to jump right in to the music. I'll miss her "good for nothing, but good" greeting around here. Thank you so much for introducing Betty into our lives and letting us love her, and in turn letting us love you, her wonderful family. Betty touched us all. Though there have been tears since her passing, there have been even more laughs and because of that, it feels like she's still here with us and will be for a long time to come. Besides, we know if she could talk to us she'd be asking us why we're all weeping and to get back to work! xo
