Obituary of Todd Ryan Franklin
Todd, age 45 years, son of Claire Fischer and the late Roy Franklin, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 22, 2018. Todd Ryan Franklin was born on Holy Thursday, April 19th, 1973, at the General Hospital in Regina, SK, to Roy and Claire Franklin. He spent the first part of his life in the shadow of the Notre Dame buildings in Wilcox, SK, getting a taste for music, sports, and community culture. Todd’s life journey took him to Medicine Hat, and then back to Notre Dame, this time enrolled as a student. He continued to develop his skills as an athlete and grew into a remarkable young man with a variety of interests and passions, including hockey and rugby, which then gave him the opportunity to travel to South Africa to play. Todd’s charismatic personality, sharp wit, and love for laughter always made him a favourite at any family or friend gathering. The greatest loves of Todd’s life were his girls, Rayne and Tessie, who may not have always been close in body, but were always close to his heart. Todd will be greeted and welcomed by his beloved dad, Roy, and grandparents. He will forever be adored, loved, and remembered by his mother, Claire (Al Fischer); loving sisters, Natasha (Ken Barrie) and Jodi (Jason Kerr); brother Scott Franklin (Tackle); nephew Keeling; nieces, Quinn, Sophie, and Margot; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Trinity R.C. Church, 5020 Sherwood Drive on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be held in Medicine Hat at a later date. Flowers most gratefully declined. Friends so wishing may make donations in memory of Todd to the Roy Franklin Bursary, Athol Murray College of Notre Dame, P.O. Box 100, Wilcox, SK S0G 5E0.
