Obituary of Katie Dorothea Roloff

KATIE (nee SCHERLE) ROLOFF 1921 - 2012 Katie passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at the age of 90 years. She was predeceased by her father Martin (1966); mother Philippine (1981); brothers Roy (1985), Martin (1998) and John (2003); sisters Frieda Nightingale (1978), Lorraine Carkner (1996), Erna Jensen (2003), Carol Hamel (2008) and Phyllis Severt (2009); one sister and four brothers in infancy. Katie is survived by her loving husband of 57 years Heinz, her sister Martha Ingles, brother-in-law Doug Severt and sister-in-law Shirley Scherle all of Regina; numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Even though Katie was legally blind from the age of nine, she was a wonderful cook and homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, in particular her petunias, knitting and baking bread. Katie will be remembered for the way that she lovingly cared for all her family. Visitation for family and friends at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Thursday, January 12, 2012 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church, 1037 Victoria Avenue, Regina, SK on Friday, January 13, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jeremy Swem officiating. Interment at Regina Memorial Gardens. Special thanks to all the staff on 3F at the Regina General Hospital for their kind and compassionate care.
